As wines are winning awards and more people are discovering its charm, the beautiful Sunnyslope Wine Trail is gaining well-deserved recognition. Nestled in the scenic Snake River Valley American Viticultural Area, this hidden gem boasts more than 16 family-owned wineries and vineyards, offering not just award-winning wines but intimate tasting and dining experiences framed by panoramic views. Here, you'll often find winemakers or vineyard owners themselves behind the tasting room counter, creating a personal connection to the craft. And during the summer and fall, farm-to-fork dinners along the Sunnyslope make for an authentic and fresh experience. Whether you're a wine aficionado or just looking for a fun afternoon with friends, the Sunnyslope Wine Trail offers an experience you won’t forget.
You may have already known all of that, but here's what a lot of people don't know: wine tours are for more than just wine lovers. With local distilleries, cideries, and wineries with many options, wine tours with Western Mountain are fun for everyone! Are you ready to customize your wine tour, so that is perfect for you and your group?
Here are three great options, we would highly recommend:
1.Koenig Distillery: Swap out one of the winery visits for a stop at Koenig Distillery, where you can sample spirits crafted right in Idaho’s Sunnyslope region. Choose three from their Whiskey, Vodka, or Brandy collections, or opt for a mini cocktail flight! While there, explore their retail store and take a self-guided tour of the Distillery and Seven Devils Barrel House. Everything about this place is magical, from their tasting rooms, to the barrel room, and the beautifully kept grounds. Their cocktail flight is a fan favorite and changes monthly. For the month of September this year they have:
PRINCESS PEACH made with Koenig Peach Vodka
TAILGATE SIPPER made with Seven Devils Straight Bourbon Whiskey
THE PLUM ROAD made with Koenig Plum Brandy
When you schedule a wine tour, just put in the comments that you'd like one of your stops be to the Koenig Distillery! You'll be glad you did.

We were recently featured in Rent for "Unique Things to do in Idaho" specifically discussing the option of adding a distillery stop to your wine tour! Check out the full article here: Unique Things to Do in Boise, ID | Rent. Blog
2. Ask for the Mimosa Flight at Sawtooth Winery:
First, a little bit about Sawtooth Winery: This winery offers a boutique-style Tasting Room and Estate Winery, where visitors can unwind and take in the stunning views of the Owyhee Mountains. Known for producing award-winning wines, like “US Best Riesling” and a 91-point Syrah.
Now, for the mimosa flight! Sawtooth makes delicious mimosas and offer a mimosa flight with different flavors each month. We have yet to find a mimosa that is not delicious. Seriously, these are a crowd favorite! For the month of September this year, the mimosa flight flavors are: Blackberry Lemonade, Honey Pear, and Guava Nectar.

3. Stop at Peaceful Belly Farms Cider and Farm to Fork Cafe
Peaceful Belly’s Farm to Fork Café is a must-visit for anyone craving fresh, seasonal, and innovative dishes. The café’s menu is ever-changing, featuring small-batch creations made with produce harvested at its peak ripeness. With a focus on plant-inspired, globally influenced comfort food, every meal is a delightful surprise based on what’s freshest that day. The café also specializes in its own Stackrock Cider, alongside a curated selection of the best local wines from neighboring vineyards, making it a perfect stop for food and drink enthusiasts alike.
Peaceful Belly is only opening Friday-Sunday, so you'd have to be on a weekend tour to add them as a stop. There are two ways you can add Peaceful Belly to your tour: you can have it replace one of your wine stops, or you can add it on to the tour after visiting three other locations. If you have it replace one of the winery stops, you can get a flight of cider or glass of wine included with your tour price. Peaceful Belly does require food to be ordered as well with the tour. Meals are not included with the tour price, but the food is so delicious, you'll be glad you did! Check with our scheduler for the cost of adding it as an additional stop at the end of the tour. You might need to book this a few weeks in advance, but give us a call at 208-467-3047, and we will find a time that works for everyone!
